ISA Certification is a voluntary program that tests and certifies a professional’s achievement of a standard level of knowledge and skill in the field of arboriculture. Earning Criteria

Required

experience

A minimum of three years of full-time experience in arboriculture or a combination of education and practical arboricultural experience.

exam

Pass a comprehensive, standardized examination designed to assess the knowledge and skills in areas such as tree biology, diagnosis, maintenance practices, safety, and other subject and practice areas within the tree care profession as identified through periodic job task analyses. The examination is made up of 200 multiple-choice questions.

participation

Recertify every three (3) years through at least 30 points of Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
